FLASHBACK FRIDAY #FBF HOW I BECAME A MODEL…

 “how I became a model”

My first introduction to modeling was in 1979, I was 16. With a push from a florida agency I was off to NY for the 1980 Whilimina Model Competition and won in several categories

Wilhelmina, Eileen Ford, Elite, Johnny Casablanca’s agency were the three biggest at the time. I chose Wilhelmina. I loved the bookers (agents), more $$ in commercials, hair color boxes, beauty campaigns and catalog work makes a lot more $ then a cover of a magazine. The covers of magazines and editorial are key to get those types of campaigns.

Seriously ladies, gents, teens and juniors, it doesn’t take much (get a couple of snap shots, very natural, send them to all agencies in the area you live in. If an agent likes you, they will work for you, help you get some professional pictures at a very low price or free with beginning photogs. DO NOT PAY FOR YOUR PICS you send in at first.

The three pictures below were taken professionally, paid for by agency before I went to NY with makeup artist and hair stylist.  I used my own clothes and styled it, don’t blame me for the 80’s wardrobe, ok? HA!
