On my last trip to Ikaria, Greece where I have been studying the lifestyle of our elders called centenarians, there are 5 places in the world that have this dynamic cluster of both men and women. I am bound to sharing all this information with my family, friends and followers, these are the people who we really can learn from they’re living proof, they are not dying from heart disease, memory loss, you name it, in other words they are not suffering and some are still using a machete, working corn fields farming and still shepherding their flocks.
This man I interviewed, Stamatis Moraitis (Steve in English) left America when diagnosed with Lung Cancer at 60 and given 9 to 11 months to live- he could not afford the burial and he and his wife went back to Ikaria, Greece. for him to die there in peace with his own culture of gardened fresh food, a very special Ikarian wine (5x more than regular) and physically active. He is now 103 and to be 104 when I return to do the Full Monty, so to speak of his life. I was lucky enough to meet his family all four generations of them.
Below are a couple of photos of my meeting with him and we joke here in America about making 50 the new 30 and as far as I’m concerned I will make 100 the new 80…. you get my drift!!!

Stamatis was my father. That’s my son. Jason and my grandson, Wyatt. I am sure it was a pleasure to meet them there….However, dad passed last February. He was ‘heart-broken’ over the death of my mother……George Moraitis

Dear George,
I am so sorry to hear about your father! I can’t thank you enough for sending me the news good or bad! He is and was an amazing man with such a wonderful story on how life can change by the things that make us happy and the choices we make. To think that after all he went through in the US and cured himself, basically with love, family and nature, no more disease and in the end did die of a broken heart brings tears to my eyes, what a story.
If you and your family are ever in Los Angeles please find me, we would love to have you to dinner, a glass of wine and a cheer celebrating the wonderful life of your father.
I was just in Ikaria from the 23rd of September until the end of September and thought about your family a lot!
God bless and again, thank you so much for caring enough to fill me in. I had such a wonderful time meeting he and the 3 other generations of your family!
