Launch Day 4 | Travel | Keep it Clear!

Lets be honest – these days air travel, with it’s liquid regulations, baggage fees, pat downs and security hoops can be a PAIN! This time of year we are all traveling more than ever. About 23.2 million travelers will fly over a 12-day period surrounding Turkey Day and that means lots of lines at the airport!

As I have spent many years on and off of planes I have developed my own cheat sheet for fool proof packing and as here it is! Safe travels friends =}

Travel light! Nobody likes lugging bags through airports, paying for porters or the pesky last minute baggage fees which pop up at the check in desk. Think about how much mileage you can get out of an item of clothing before putting it in your case and avoid one wear items.

Pack all your toiletries so you can see them! I ALWAYS separate my toiletries into types and pack them into different clear bags. That way – there’s no sticky messes to clear up at the other end and you can FIND everything you’ve packed when you need it. PLUS when you need to pull them out for security you are ready to go.

Plan ahead. Plan all your outfits, Check in online, have all your travel documents printed and pick up/drop off arrangements organized. The airport is going to be stressful enough – cut out as many reason to worry in advance as you can.

Music to your ears. Take some headphones and load your MP3 player up with soothing tunes. When I’m waiting in line behind the SLOWEST co-passengers ever I pop BB King on my ipod and zone out.  TIP: Make sure you wait in front of an announcement screen in case you miss your call through the music!!
