Launch Day 1 | Health | “If you do 5 things today make them…”

Hi FRIENDS! Life is busy, time is our most precious commodity and lord knows none of us have enough of it! As an international model, soap actress and restauranteur believe me when I say I know first hand what it’s like to have to seriously prioritize when it comes to doing things strictly for the good of your body!  Here’s my top 5 picks for a time conscious health kick.

 

1- Iced is twice as nice! Drink a very cold  glass of  water before anything else. It will boost your metabolism and wake your digestive system up. If you can add a slice of lemon even better – it will help alkaline your body and mean your digestive system is more affective and that you can absorb more nutrients and vitamins.

 

2- Fruity feast first. Fruit is obviously remarkably good for your body on so many levels, however it’s very important that you don’t eat anything else before your fruit indulgence or your body won’t absorb it properly. Making sure you only indulge on your fruit with an empty stomach will prevent any fermenting in your tummy and mean you not only get the most from all the fruits nutrients but you also wont ever feel acid indigestion.

 

3- Hot and Cold is totally hot. Hot and cold baths have been used for centuries and some of the benefits they bring include: increased energy, increased circulation, detoxification, and the clearing of negative energy. Recreate this spa favorite in the comfort of your own home by simply alternating the hot and cold water in your shower, as hot as you can and as cold as you can up to 5 times after bathing.

4- 5 minute stretch and tension relievers . Even if it’s whilst you’re still in bed, eating breakfast, sat at a traffic light or at your desk there are many quick stretches and tension relievers which can slip right into your busy schedule. My favorite is whilst lying in bed on my back as soon as I wake up pull your knees up with your feet flat on the floor or mattress, drop your knees to the left and let your hips twist and your head drop to the right, then reverse directions and repeat 5 or more times.

 

5- Streamline your supplements.  There are so many supplement choices out there these days but these are my must not miss energy and wellbeing boosters.  Omega 3, 6, 9 daily are a must and should be taken with food. If you’re a vegan Flax, Chai and Coconut oils are a fantastic alternative.  All will improve your hair, skin and bones. Brenda’s Tip: Take your supplements at night so that you can digest them overnight whilst you sleep and wont have any irritable burp issues!
